When cold, the oil pressure is about 45psi idle but when hot like oil temperature 220-230F, my oil pressure is 12-14psi as displayed on dash.
I think that running 10W30 would only lower the hot oil pressure. Dino oil is good until 260F.
GM specified the energy saving oils to save a few tenth of mpg so Corvette would not be subject to gas guzzler and improve corporate CAFE.
My car has 34,000 miles. I think it is not uncommon for low mileage L98 (read 50,000 miles) to have low oil pressure. High oil pressure is not needed, and actually slows engine down (it takes power to drive the oil pump).
Small block Chevy oil pressure minimum is like 7psi at 1000rpm. Typically, most will say 10psi per 1000rpm is normal.

I am in Australia so us having the same oil requirements(temperatures) are different to being in America! But i have found Mobil 1 5W 30W but it is Full Syn!
i want semi syn! there are numerous semi syn oils but not many that go to 5W 30W, they are all 10W 30W, or 10W 40W!
any way i will go with Valvoline 10W 30W or 40W
Australia typically uses higher weight oils than in the US. Even in owners manuals for cars destined for OZ, the oil weight recommendations are (unduly) higher
Stay with a name brand 5 or 10-30
my 95 has 20-25 lbs oil press when hot (230degrees) 56K on car 5-30
