I'm lucky, two local shops sell nitrous for $2 a pound. I run a 15# bottle so I can run 12-13 times before I'm down to the last 5 pounds. That is less than $2 a run. Cheap fun as far as I'm concerned.
I've run over 100#'s in the last 4 months. Nitrous is the shisnit!
BTW, I pulled 462rwhp and 566rwtq from my otherwise stock ZR-1. That kind of power would have set me back over $20k.

Oh yeah, it's so much cheaper than a blower, etc. Plus you can hide it so no one can see it. I know a guy who cut a tire in half, put his bottle in the spare tire well and had a remote bottle opener...wrapped the tire half around it so if you peeked in the well all you'd see was a tire (little did you know!). It was pretty neat. Blower is obvious when you open the hood. Easy to surprise the cocky street racer with gas. You are lucky it's $2/lb, I was paying $4.95 so it was about $50 for a fill up. That was a good motivator to not spray too much :yesnod: !
I am a bg fan of NOS as well. Just don't get greedy, if you stay under a 150hp shot you will be just fine. The companies that make the kits tune them on the rich side for extra insurance. They don't want calls to their tech line all day about how their product killed your car. You are pretty safe. Just make sure your car is in a good state of tune and let her eat.
Also, I didnt bad mouth you like all the other traitors when you got banned. (if someone gets banned, it is no holds barred on feelings)
You have to be in allegiance or loyal to something before your considered a traitor.
Page oracleguru, K&B Motorsports, in the southwest section. He has a lot of experience in this. He is running the O'Reilly's points series this season with his C5. I am part of his race team and pit crew. He can help you understand all the specifics to NOS.
