Default 93shocks done! Replace variable or regular

The shocks on my 93 are all leaking and it has the Bilstein variable suspension (adjustable) shocks. The acuators are also bad. They haven't worked since I've had the vette so I don't know if it is worth replacing the shocks/acuators or just get non-adjustable shocks. Any opinions on this? If its not worth replacing/repairing, any ideas on good shocks that will be somewhere between highway and performance? As always, your comments are always appreciate!!

It is perfectly normal for Bilstein shocks to have some oil on the outside. They are often mis-diagnosed as leaking. If your shocks are still dampening then I wouldn't worry about them. If you want to restore the funtionality of the FX3 there is a guy that sells better than stock replacement gears for the shock tops and rebuilds actuators with better than stock gears too. Bilstein will rebuild your shocks for less than you can buy new ones too.

Captain Z CNC

I would link you to his website but I'm not sure if he is a forum supporting vendor.

Google that name and you will find him.

I was talking to a few local corvette gurus, and the cost to replace the FX3 actuators (or rebuild), as well as the cost to rebuld or replace the stock shocks seriously adds up.

They mentioned to me that the Z51 shocks (bilsteins) would be a nice alternative at a fraction of the price.

KYB, Koni, Tokiko, they all make replacement shocks for the c4....

just my opinion...

Although I too would love to keep the FX3 equipment on my car (or atleast replace was it's there since I purchased it). YOu can pick up coil overs (with the shocks) for nearly the same price.

Thanks to all for your time and advice. Think I will just get the Z51 shocks...too much money to repair all the things that need to be fixed on the ride control. Again, thanks to all who took the time to help me out!!
