wrong theft deterrant box
Can anyone tell me what this goes to. I have an 86 w/4+3, manual. the alarm would keep going off. I pulled the center dash pnl. out and found the Theft Deter. box. I unplugged it, and the alarm quit going off. But the horn doesn't work. I bought a box on ebay, said that it was for an 86. It looks the same, BUT the wiring harness will not plug into it. They are different.On the one side it has the numbers 16039969 and under that are numbers 8640. I would really love to know what this goes to. I can sell it on ebay, and then go to the dealer and pay an arm and a leg for the right one. Thanks

I got this from www.vette2vette.com and I think it is called a VATS control box. This was the one they got me for my 87. Give them a call and see if they have one for you. At the time I bought mine they had several.
