Get about two feet of 20 pound fishing line and sliding back and forth, start at the edge of the emblem and slowly cut through the double faced tape, but look out for the two alinement pins, you'll have to cut around them. To put them back on, scrape the old double faced tape, clean and apply new double faced tape. I used an Exacto knife to trim off the excess tape. A little time consuming but well worth the trouble.

Default Use an Old Credit Card

I used an old credit card. Sawing it back and forth underneath I was able to get the old emblem off without a problem. I then used Goo Gone. Cleaned with water, dried, and placed the new emblem in place, etc. Piece of cake...just take your time. By the way.....I didn't dream this process up...I learned it from others.

A hair dryer can also soften up the adhesive. I don't have any adhesive on my emblems now - makes 'em easy to remove for waxing, etc.

Do you remove them every time you wax? Never thought of doing that. Copper

The nuts work if you remember to use them.

If not the front emblem will depart the car at 96MPH.

Yes, it only takes a few seconds to remove/reinstall them now, so it's much easier with them off.
