You're missing the console inner carpet, my 96 has it, they're factory. I've looked at a few corvettes both before and after buying mine, and I've seen others like ours. I can't remember seeing one without carpet in the console compartment (My focus has been 92-96 models). It appears to be a nylon loop piece.
My winter project will be tearing out my old carpet and putting in new Tru Vette carpeting so great find and I hope you figure something out. Maybe get a roll of the economy auto carpeting and use your old piece as a template to cut out a new piece.

I have this in my 84 also. Wal-mart sells a roll of carpet that is identical you get a roll of about 12 sq feet for 8 dollars. just cut to match. Also Willcox is a great vendor to deal with.

Guys,

I never said the compartment did not have a liner and this was factory installed.

It is not carpet as described by the OP which is what lead to the original post and confusion.

In the emails we received it was described as carpet. We were looking for a section of carpet that was in this shape. We never dreamed the OP was asking about the glove box liner.

I've had my '94 for about 10 years and this whole time I always thought that piece was carpet, I don't have it anymore to look at or make a template of but I guess I'll just get it off eBay. Vette2Vette is the vendor on eBay that is selling this piece and they also list it as carpet. I can't remember if it was felt I don't think I paid much attention to it, but it doesn't look right without it. No big deal, the Willcox carpet set was very good in fit and finish was just wondering about this part. If it is indeed felt, I agree that it would not be expected to be included but would be a nice piece to finish the set. Thanks for the help guys.

To the OP:

You've got your entire old set of carpet. You've got the old console liner. I bet if you look at the carpet you take out from the vertical run behind the seats you will find a piece of old carpet in nice enough condition to use as a "new" console liner. Maybe a few minutes with a sharp razor blade and some trim adhesive.

It is a light, black, carpet-like fabric material that lines the consol floor that the cars came with from the factory, PN 10085932. I also have a 94 and it has one. However, I would not consider this item as part of the interior carpet group.
My 89 and 90 both have it. Unrestored cars.

My '92, '94 & '96 coupes all had the center console glove box liner.

I bought all three (3) Vettes new.

I found one of those under the rear carpet flap of the ABS pump well in my 96. Thanks for telling me what it actually is!
