what should your oil temp avg. while driving, clear rd. no traffic

Mine gets to about 210 driving normal highway speeds. 96 LT4.

Oil is cooled by your engine coolant. Oil temp should be a little higher than your coolant temp. I use 10-15 degrees as a rough guide. It works for me.

210 to 215 degrees 1995 LT1 at highway speeds.

Handy to know for a dude who's temperture sensor feeds the info to a race computer !
The factory Computer still works the dash and tranny and the oil temp works fine !

I know a gauge is on my list of things to do.
I wonder if maybe a split harness off the sensor would work .
