Did you notice at the end of the video, as the cop car is shoving the Vette into a spin, how the Perp. so calmly reaches up for his cigarette? Like this is just a normal part of the ride for him!
If the cops are going to destroy a stolen car, they might as well let the thief have the damn thing. I think property recovery is their last priority. They wouldn't be so quick to crash them if they had to fix their own cars out of their own pockets.

I did notice that, the kid must have been high as a kite. And your right, property recovery is the LAST priority, saving lives is first; property can be replaced and fixed; lives cannot..
Actually the perp made the first contact with a cruiser at the 0:33 second mark.
Yep, you're right on that one! It's just tough to watch somebody's pride and joy, that they have worked so hard for, be destroyed right in front of you.
With all the technology they have now like the On-Star program and the way Sirius and XM radios work, how long will it be before the LEO's can just shut off a car when they want to with a computer keystroke. Don't pay your license or insurance renewal...OFF goes your cars computer! For good or bad the technology is getting scary.
Klondike, that technology is already here on the railroad. Some of the newer locomotives have GPS and telemetry which monitors oil pressure, coolant pressure, etc. A locomotive can be 1000 miles away and when something starts getting over a pre-set reading it notifies motive power headquarters. Not sure if it automatically shuts down but I do know they can TELL it to shut down.
The day will come when you exceed the limit by 20 MPH, the GPS kills the car and sends a cop to give you a ticket.

why even get the cops involved, just have the computer print the ticket and send it in the mail for them? Oh wait, that was Terminator 3.........
