Default "Corvette Roads" is back on line

"Corvette Roads" is back on line. I needed to switch web host due to a phone scam by MCI. :mad Sorry for any dead links that I caused by switching over. The new address is in my signature. Just click on the "Corvette Roads" link. If you have additional roads please let me know. A few states have no representation. As I get pictures, I am switching over to the new format as shown in the Western states.

Good to hear everything is back OK.

I'm curious... did MCI screw you over in some way?

Keep up the good work, and thanks for the useful website!

Tempest, thanks for asking here is my tale of woe:

Phone slamming and lies by MCI

I received a call last month from MCI. Brian the sales representative answered several of my questions. He represented MCI as being able to provide (along with long distance service):

15 Megabyte of web hosting
5 e-mail addresses
Local ISP number
$3.95 per month for the first three months then just $6.95 after the first three months, this was for the long distance plan and ISP
MCI will pay for all transfer fees
MCI will edit all my web pages to the new URL and repost

When I finally got the MCI packet in the mail I was already switched off my ATT account, MCI has NO e-mail, NO web hosting, NO ISP number, NO edit capabilities, and the $20 that switching cost me was supposed to be covered by a check for $1.50.

I had to call MCI a third time to get the $20 switching costs covered by the verbal word of Ben another MCI representative. I will believe that when I see the check.

The only thing that MCI could say is that they were sorry and did I want to register a complaint. I was getting ISP and long distance services by ATT for $6.95 per month due to a special offer that of course is null and void now!

This was the most blatant out and out lying done by a major company that I have personally experienced.

Sounds blatant indeed. I've had phone companies try to screw me before but blatant false advertising was not one of them. I certainly hope you get this mess squared away soon.

Guess I should start making a habit of tape recording phone conversations during phone promos...

Nice car and great "Roads" website, Prof.

Sorry about your experience w/ MCI. I recently got DSL through Verison and am happy with it and them, but I kept my ATT account--for $4.95 a month it is good insurance.

By the way, I'm an butt't Prof at PSU, Capitol Campus. If you are ever in the Hershey, PA area, give me a call.

Cigarman, Ph.D.
