Default Car Covers

Anyone have a problem with their car covers leaving a fine grey dust on their cars after one day? I have high quality outdoor covers for both my Vette and Acura that are about 3 years old. They are in perfect condition, no rips or tears. However they leave a fine grey dust which to say the least is highly frustrating. I've washed the covers and that has not helped. Perhaps their life is about 3 years in the Florida sun and thats it. I'm switching to the cotton cover for the Vette as its always parked indoors.

Same here, they deteriorate after about 3 years....just get a new one. I have to clean the car before every ride, but thats the breaks with no garage.

If you want to keep the car clean while in the garage then go to the local hardware store and buy a 400 foot roll of 9 foot wide plastic, 1 mil or less thick. Cut off an appropriate length and use it to cover your car. It will not hurt the paint and is dustproof. When you want to drive your car just move the plastic piece to the other car in the garage, upside down. When ready to cover the Vette just put the plastic, right side up, on the Vette. When the plastic gets dirty, just throw it away and cut off a new hunk from the roll. Works great and it is cheap.
