Default new mufflers

i put elims. on mine and it sounds great at idle and when getting on it. but when just just taking off in traffic it sounds like any car needing a muffler, i've watched alot of vids on youtube with exhaust sounds from diff. manufacturers, but am undecided still, i didn't like the corsa at all (sounds like a boat motor)ok for some, just not me. anyone try magnaflow, flowmasters have bad reviews from almost everyone because of resonance. I really don't want to do the whole cat back thing if possible, just the muffler, anyone try H.O.T. mufflers?

I agree with you! I don't know anything about the H.O.T. mufflers, but what about some used PE mufflers. They are very stout / well made and about bullet proof. They are loud without much of the drone elims have. I have a sound clip somewhere if interested.

PE is Power Effects. They are no longer made. If you can find them, they are still expensive. They are much heavier and stoutly made than anything I've every had, so used, you still would get years of use. They have dials in them that turn baffles for a straight through muffler or dampen the sound a bit. Here is what mine sounds like outside and inside the car. Pardon the poor video quality.

Cool! I thought they were discontinued. Thanks for the link.

I also did not realize that they flow that well. The only down side is that I only see the 2 3/4" version. The older versions were 3".

I'd recommend to anyone wanting more / better sound and good air flow. I suspect that they are still pricey.
