Smooth Air Coupler

Does anyone know of a good replacement for the air coupler that could replace both the front and rear accordien style air couplers? I've searched, but have not found anything that looks to be good quality. I am cleaning much of the air intake system right now and while looking at it, that accordien style does not look like it can pull air very well. Looks like it would create quite a bit of turbulence. Is this correct?

I need something that breaths!!

I wonder how much difference it really makes. I can see the need for the accordion, to absorb movement of the engine.

Are they worth the money or just another trick of the mind??
