Hehe... I almost did that last year. I had my ROH'S sold, and was considering GS Wheels...or something similar. They wouldn't come in time, and the person purchasing the ROH'S wouldn't wait. I wasn't about to let my car sit without rims and tires in the beginning of August either, ut uh.
Hang in there, you're not missing anything with the way the weather is now.
Shouldn't you have the hood popped, and the doors open? I heard the frame can be bent if you don't.
I can't get a straight answer on that. Somewhere I read if you open them, it weakens the structure and can cause bending, other places I've heard open them so it doesn't bend. Oh well, luckily no problem yet, and it's already got it's new shoes on.
I leave the doors closed, I feel it makes the body more rigid and less susceptable to cracking the fiberglass. No cracks yet and my car has been in the air many a time.
Oh yeah, also, I think the myth that the doors/hood should be open causes more damage than it prevents. Ever seen a car thats had the hood closed with the doors open? Its not pretty!
I did that once. I sold my wheels and tires, and my new wheels were supposed to arrive the same week. I thought that would give me almost a week to clean the car a little. Well, 2 months later, I finally got the new wheels.
doors and hood closed make the car more rigid. think about it. its the same as having the top off. makes the car more flexable. alot of people wont open the doors with the car in the air but i think its alot of crap. you will notice that the car flexes when you do but i dont think it will hurt it. depending on how you lift it the door might not close back until the car gets back down but it wont hurt it.
