How can i determine if my ECM or computer went bad? My mechanic checked everything he could think and thinks the computer is the next step.
The car started missfiring initially so he changed the fuel pump, distributor cap and plugs and the missfire went away but now it stalls to the point you cant drive it. We are not getting any check engine codes.

Is their a way to test the ECM?
I had the same issue earlier this year. In my case('89), it was the dealer. I went ahead and wasted $$ and changed it out. (thankfully myself...30 minute job with a good back...). Changing the ECM out got me nowhere.
If you are experiencing a miss it is probably due to your injectors. I would ohm/resistance check all the injectors first. They should all be around 16-17 (or at least close in relation to the reading of others on the car). Plenty of threads about this issue.
It stopped my miss and I passed emissions with flying colors.
