Default What's This Part?

I was cleaning wires and hoses yesterday and I noticed the big cone shaped part down by the headlights with a big rubber boot on it and a chain inside the boot wasn't hooked up to the cable it was supposed to be hooked up to. I didn't have any problem with how the car was running but I hooked it back up and haven't noticed anything. Sorry for the weird description. I have a 84 with automatic transmission. The part is down by the headlight wiring on the driver's side. Is there any reason it might have been unhooked? Thanks.

A chain? A rubber boot? A cone?

Where did you pick it up, outside a prison? The gang might be missing...

Kidding aside, driverside down at the headlights, is either the vacuum reservoir for the cruise or the carbon canister...

How big is it?

Thanks, I was out on the highway today and I checked to see if my cruise control would work and what do you know! First time I have ever had it! I have to use the resume/accel slider, the button on the end of the stalk doesn't work and it drives rougher than I do but it was fun.
