The best service manual is the Factory service manual set, can be purchased from www.helminc.com. They are pricey, but worth it. That's where I got the full FSM set for my '93 C4.
Or, you can check Ebay or the parts section on this forum, occasionally you can find them used for cheaper. But if you choose to buy them used, make sure they are the red final edition ones, the white ones you sometimes see are the preliminary versions that have been superseded.

I'm sorry about that but atleast someone understood what I meant and isn't that the whole purpose getting help with the cars? Plus you must have spelled it wrong before in your life because you could read it. But next time I will be a little more aware of my spelling. By the way not to be a jerk or anything but you should start a sentence with a capital letter.

The FSM is definitely the one to get. As others have said get the red cover not the white. Keep in mind that they are model year specific (so you'll need a 1990 edition) and also there are two volumes. The first volume covers everything except electrical and drivability (both of which are covered in the second volume). Even if you don't intend to do your own work they are worth having. If you don't have an expert Corvette shop in your area you can always lend your copy to a trusted mechanic.
One more thing; they are not "Corvettes for Dummies", they are written for trained mechanics so they don't explain a lot of basic terms. (if you think a bearing race is a speed contest you've gonna have a problem).
Thank you all for your help, this is my first corvette and I want to learn as much as I can about it and this forum is a great way to learn about so many different things.
i agree with everyone on getting the FSM. they are very pricey if purchased new, so ebay is the place. i found my set there, used, but near mint condition last year for a very reasonable price. make sure it's a 2 vol set, red cover...
