I have an '86 convertible. There is a fabric "cover" that covers the top cover panel (package shelf area) with the top up. The cover flaps while driving with the windows down. Velcro or two sided tape will not work because it will be exposed with the top down. How did GM intend to keep this from flapping or "do they all do it"?
Always driving with the top down is not an option.
Not much you can do, I have tried several things, Velcro, pins, but as you said it moves when you take the top down. I did once try small airline type pillows shoved in the corners of the top, but you have to remember to remove them. I do use the same pillows to put between my vert window and top when taking it down so the fabric material doesn't sit on the plastic window. I hope I got my point across

Happened to both my 87 vert and my 96 vert. Just live with it. If it is warm enough to drive with the windows open then put the top down and let the breeze ruffle your hair.

Nice to commiserate with others on this topic. I've found nothing to solve the problem. What was GM thinking? I suppose they never tested the car with the top up and windows down?
