Default Convertible top question

Well my brand new top just arrived from half way round the world with the glass window smashed to bits. Am still in dispute with the freight company concerning the costs involved, but my question is.
Has anyone put a plastic window into one of these tops in place of the glass one?. My car doesnt get that much use and is under cover all the time, so I was thinking this might be the cheapest and easiest way to go.
Cheers

Glass windows, in my opinion, are much better than plastic windows. If you bought your top from a company in the USA contact them, tell them the glass window was broken when received and you want another top sent out, and let them fight with the shipping company. It is the sellers responsibility to see that you get a top in good condition. If you bought it from an individual, good luck.

Check with your local top shop, seeing the top is not installed I would think a good top shop could sew a plastic window in, they would have to fabricate it because to my knowledge you can't buy just a new plastic window made for the c-4, everybody upgrades to glass. I don't know if the cost would be any less than just replacing your broken glass window. Good luck.

Thanks Rich
I wish it was as easy as just checking with the local shop. Nothing like that here. Will probably end up with a new top, I have access to regular travel so was thinking of taking it somewhere to get it done, if I need to.

Warning! I had a top damaged in shipping. The shipping company paid the claim - TO THE SENDER. He claimed he never got it. I never did get my money.

The shipping company are really starting to drag their feet about this, dont think its going to be a good outcome. But will just see how we go.
The pictures you see are Dubai are a very cunning advertisement. This town is all about self promotion.
Its a 3rd world country with a 1st world facade.

My brother talked to a local shop(friend of his) about replacing his plastic window. The guy wanted $400 with the top off of the car.
