I want to get a code reader for 92-93 corvette, does it matter which one I get. Any thoughts are comments on the ones used on the forum. I have a 92 that wont start and would like to check to see if it is throwing a code.

Scan tools are helpful, but you don't need one to pull codes, see this link:
If you do decide to purchase one after you get your car running, make sure it will read the older OBDI protocol, many will only work with OBDII, a true scan tool should display sensor values, not just read codes. Good luck.
Buy the best scanner you can afford. As stated a true scanner goes beyond a code reader and has frame rate capture functionality and the ability to perform diagnosis beyond just reading the code. Dont forget the trusty paperclip will work in a pinch.
I bought a Auto Xray 6000 last year and Im very pleased with it. It will do OBD1 and OBD2, it reads real time and can record for putting on your computer or for printing out. It helped me discover why my 89 was running so poorly by showing me that my 02 sensor was creating a lean condition..They really help for tracking down sensor problems and save time and money by stopping you from throwing parts at a problem.I paid about $380.00 for it..WW
