However, all 93s had the 40th anniversary logo embroidered on the headrests, which might be why you see just about every 93 for sale listed as a 40th anniversary edition when not the case.
My 93 has them, I asked the dealer about it when it was in their shop recently, it's a high volume dealership that sells the majority of the Vettes in SLC and the sales manager told me that some did come with 40th emblems that were not RPO cars. He said it was farily common, don't know how true that is. He looked at mine and said they were factory installed, don't know how he knew that.

This is incorrect.
40th badges on the fender only came on the Ruby's.....
If you have them then the previous owner installed them.
Maybe a dealership installed them.
But not from the assembly line.

Just telling you what the dealership told me, every time I mention this I get some Ruby owner mad. I have also been told this by Superior Chevrolet in KC. I have no idea how true it is. Don't really care, they look great on a black Vette.

You didn't make a Ruby owner made(I don't have a Ruby), I was just pointing out the facts.
Every piece of literature that I have read indicates that the Ruby was the only 93 with the badging.
Plus I have heard it from the man himself - Dave McClellen.
And I do agree, the look great on the car, that is why I also added them to my 93.....

Yea they do look good! But I have been told that they did get them in occassionaly which is different from everything I've read as well.
40th badges on the fender only came on the Ruby's, I have a old sales book, and only the 40th Anniversary editions are ruby red, look in my garage on the forms I own a ruby red Anniversary you can see the badges

Only if it had leather seats which were an option, a $495.00 option.
1993 was the last year cloth seats were standard and leather was optional. The 40th anniversary cars 'Rubys" also had chrome emblems, one on the hood and one on the gas door, rather than the standard black ones. I like the chrome emblems and changed mine in favor of the chrome. I have Lingenfelter script badging on the sides of the fenders so no room for 40th badges. I did have a set of floor mats embroidered with the 40th logo in torch red to match the seats though.
