Hi everyone I was just wondering is there a certain kind of anti-freeze that I should be using in my '93 LT1 corvette ? I find myself have to add a water mix with anti-freeze about every other week or so , to the over flow ! Just anted to make sure I'm using the right kind !! Thanks alot , ~Sunshine~
On 93 only use the green stuff. Dex Cool (yellow) will not mix with "green stuff" and clog the system. Prior owner on my 93 tried to mix yellow and green. It took many flushes to clean entire cooling system get rid of the mess it caused. I use a concentrate and 50/50 mix with water. Good luck.
Use Prestone antifreeze/coolant and mix it 50/50 with distilled water. Believe me the distilled water will make a difference in how clean the coolant stays. Also as was already mentioned, never buy a 50/50 mix as you are paying for half water instead of coolant.

Have you checked your cooling system? You shouldn't have to add to it "about every other week or so".
I just used prestones any color and it's green but works with all anti freeze.
I use a 75 25 mix.More anti freeze the better.
1) Do not mix the green antifreeze with the orange Dex Cool. They are not compatible.
2) More antifreeze is not better. Water transfers heat better than antifreeze. A 50-50 mix generally gives the best combination of heat transfer, low temperature protection, and boil over protection.

What ever brand and type you choose, make sure NOT to get any on your Opti or it might die.
