My '92 that I just got is in need of tires.
It has almost new Goodyear HP Ultra Plus on the fronts (dry rot and cracking) and mis match on the rear.
I am looking at options, according to TIRE RACK the HP Ultra Plus is discontinued and Goodyear reccommends the F1 as the replacement.
They (TR) has a screaming deal on SUMITOMO's and I am looking at those.
Anybody have experience with these tires?

Goodyear F1 GS D3's
This tire is absolutely fantastiic. I have the 315x35x17 on the back with the 275x40x17 on the front of my 96 and You had better be belted in tight if you don't want to be thrown around while cornering. Tire noise when driving on the highway is not even noticiable. Driving in one of the biggest downpours in Virginia was dead rock stable at 60+ changing lanes made you think the pavement was dry. Got them from Tire rack within three days. My son has a 2007 Z06 with Pirelli PS2s and wants to switch to the F1 G3 D3. Just look at the tire

I'll never buy goodyears again. Have never had a decent one. I'm having Michelin Ps2's installed today (hopefully they'll make it in today). Every tire I researched used the PS2 to compare performance. So why buy anything else? Well unless you are runing a 315...

I put SUMITOMO's on my 92 ZR-1 and I am very happy with them. I don’t autocross or drag race, so performance wise I don’t know. But you just can’t beat the price, I got mine from Discount tire for the same price as TR.
