I really don't want to keep my 88.
I want a Convertable bad!
And basicly my parents are going to be paying for college, until I get a student loan (same thing they did with my older sister.)
I wouldn't drive a Vette as a daily driver in college. It will be very hard to keep that car in excellent condition especially if you have to park it in a parking garage or in the street. Plus you might start to have other problems. I would sell it and bank all the money plus the 8000 and let it collect some interest. Then when you get out of college and find a good job you have yourself a nice down payment on a new one. :D
I've never been a fan of the star wars cockpit of the early C4's. The LT1 is a fine motor, but a dime a dozen. Go for the big block. Like you said it's only 10k. Take the extra 2-5k you would have spent on the LT1 vert and buy a beater. Cheap 4 cyl that gets good gas mileage.

That 69 BB is pretty rare. I'd be all over it.
I'd have to agree. :yesnod: You can drive half and half if you want. It'd be hard to let the Vette sit there too much. :)
I have an 88 Coupe. Its in good condition, but the little things that keep going wrong are bugging me to no extent(headlights, paint chips, etc...).
what I wonder is, will buying an LT1 solve the problems you're describing. Paint chips? Like from driving down the road? LT1's aren't new cars either. I say the only way to avoid problems of an older car are to buy a brand new car.
Must be nice....18 and going to college and don't know whether to sell my coupe and buy a LT-1 vert or a 69BB. Things were sure different for me. I'm not disrespecting you, it's just that looking back on my college days, most of us were broke and hitchhiking home twice a semester.
Life is good these days for you. For God's sake you better be kissing your parents' butt for your life and having to struggle with this big "dilemna" you have.
I guess I'm probably a little jealous and confused at how things have changed in 30 years.
