Question?? Does it matter what spark plugs you use. Should I spend the extra money for the "quadro" or the "dual" spark plugs? Any help would be appreciated. I have an 84' if that helps.
My last wire set were the Taylor 8mm Spyro-Pro's, but I recently moved to the MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor's only because I needed to have a custom length. Otherwise, the Taylors were great and pretty reasonably priced.
Any copper core plug will do fine. Stay away from the gimmick plugs unless you like wasting money.
When I bought my car it had Bosch "gimmick plugs" which didn't look too bad with a nice light tan coloring- but the car just seemed to run rough cold. I replaced them with standard AC DELCO plugs -it ran and idled great!
The wires were not too bad and didn't look too old, but I have also replaced them and the the cap/ rotor -just so I know everything is current.
My car is all stock, so I didn't go with any real performance parts, except an Accel cap because it uses brass.

I do not know if it was a gimmick, but Horsepower TV did a dyno test with E3 Spark Plugs. They used the same engine with different spark plugs. The E3 gave the best boost in horsepower and gas mileage.

was it high compression or boosted?
and a good tune does the same

It was a test bed engine tuned to maximum output. Horsepower TV uses it to check the claims of the manufacturer of different products.
The test was a few months ago so I do not have all the details. I just wrote down the plug name to give it a try next time I need plugs. They do a lot of re-runs so I will keep an eye out for more detail. It is on cable on Sat & Sun.

you are not going to see a gain in hp from spark plugs.
i'm suprised to read that someone here uses NGK platinum plugs. they are excellent plugs and i use NGK plugs for my RX-7's and my Camry. my 84 has AC Delco plugs and they seem to work great! i may do more research on the NGK but i guess for now i'll stick with the oem replacement.
