I have a black vette Zaino'd
seems like you can walk by this car and it gets micro scratches.
I've used the duster before but do you guys think it scratches???
I had used a CA Duster for a short period of time in the past, but not any longer. I was noticing too many fine, hairline scratches in the clearcoat. At this point I only quick detail with a quick detail spray and quality microfiber cloths.
If the car were white, I'd be more inclined to use the Duster, but not on darker finishes. :nonod: Just did not care for it's performance.
That sounds like what I've gone through.
What detail spray I have Mequiar's & 3m .
My car is Zaino'd I need some Z6 I quess
Because I have a carnauba wax on my car, I use a carnauba based quick detail spray - Eimann Frabrik Clear Pearl.
Since your finish has Zaino, you will probably want to stick with the Z-6. I do know of other Zaino users that use other Quick Detail Sprays (such as Eagle One Wet Wipe&Shine, Meguiar's Final Inspection, etc.) because they do not contain carnauba. It's up to you.

Re: California Duster-Any Problems (RockeVette95)
I use the Duster only to clean off dust that collects in the garage. If I've left the car outside, I wash it to get rid of the dust. I'm assuming most of the airborne dust is actually fine grains of sand - the California Duster traps that dirt and scrapes the clearcoat, IMHO.
Have one....love it. I don't back the car out of the garage without using it! One thing, though, is don't use a section of it to concentrate on an area... just glide it over the car.

What you black folks don't see that us white folks do...depending on the type of duster you buy, the "wax" stuff on the fibers gets dirty, and as you are running it over the car, it will leave these little black blobs behind (very tiny).
I noticed it with my first one...that didn't look dirty nor did I own it long...so I bought another one, within three uses it was leaving marks, and I was removing fine dust layers each time.
That thing got filed in the big blue filing cabinet maked "BFI"!
Been using a duster for mega years. Used it on 99 Miata BLACK (bought new) and my 92 BLACK coupe (bought used) botrh are BLACK as you can see and they are NOT scratched by the duster. I have found that the dirtier the duster the better it cleans. Just don't ever push or rub HARD on your paint. Simply glide it over the paint and it'll make you smile. :yesnod: I'm on my second one in 8 years. First one the handle broke in half. Did not know my own strength, I guess  :seeya
I love mine.. no problems.. follow the new user instructions..
My Vette always stays covered, so I use it when I take the cover off and before I put it back on.
It is just a "duster" so use it lightly for that purpose.
Bought mine at Walmart for $9.95 for large one..
I have been using mine for many years without any problems. My car stays covered in the garage and I dust it off after I take the cover off and I dust it before I put the cover back on. I also use Mequiars Qwik Detail after each dusting. I would not recommend using it on a dirty car no matter what color it is. As for the dust that accumulates during the course of a the day, just lightly dust it off and Qwik Detail. I can honestly say that I have reduced the number of times I wash my car from once a week to twice a year using this method. Remember, the detergent in many car wash products is probably more harmful to the overall finish of a car than a well seasoned California duster. Just my $.02.
The California Duster has parafin wax in it. When you buy them new it leaves nasty waxy streaks. I washed mine in the washing machine several times (don't tell my wife:D ) and allowed it to hang dry. It removed alot of the wax but not all of it. I then lightly moistened the fibers with Zaino Z6 and allowed it to dry again. It still will remove the dust... not just move it around. Since I Zaino the heck out of my car I'm not worried about the duster causing scratches. I only use the duster to remove dust from the car sitting in the garage. For the detail... I always follow up with Z6... and if I'm in no big hurry I'll put on a coat of Z2 alternating with Z5 :yesnod: Bottom line is I like them but when they are new they can leave a waxy streaking mess. These dusters only get better the more they are used IMHO :)
I have used the CA Duster on my black shadow forever and I do notice that if I use any pressure I will get streaks. These come off with the next washing or come off with a detailer spray and are not in the clear coat. You should let your duster sit on some absorbent paper for 24 hours before using it the first time. Here in Yuma your car gets dust on it before you are done washing, so it is important to be careful.
