I had a 94 coupe that I totalled, picked up an 86 convertible for cheap. Rebuilding the 86 using as many parts as possible from the 94. Stripped the 86. Removed the front and rear suspension, firewall and dash, front shock mounts and part of the console from the 94 and installed them in the 86. Modified the the front kick panels so the front bose speakers will fit in the 86. Modified the rear tub so the newer ABS will fit. Notched the front frame so the LT1 cats will fit. Repaired some holes on the rear deck. Sanded, primed and painted. It is Silver Blue Metallic. Got it moved into the garage yesterday.
Thats the 64, took me 5 years to restore that one.
"Which style body panels are you going to use?"
At one time I would have said the newer panels for sure, but I have really grown to like the older style, so haven't decided. Wont be able to finish the paint til this spring so I have some time to think about it.
