Default New mods....

Well I was going to wait to get my LT4 top end kit. I was going for the heads, air gap version intake, cam....etc as well as headers and exhaust......

Well its going to have to wait even more. For some reason the girl friend thinks furniture is MORE important than power. She told me this the other day and I looked at her with the most serious of faces and said "I dont even know who you are any more."

So she won and we get our new sectional couch, love seat, easy chair, end stands, and coffee table delivered sometime in the coming week.

It sucks to get old. Just the other day my friends and I (they are guys) were all discussing what type of carpet sweeper we purchased and why and how much we love the bagless.

No.....more like wedding bells......lol

Might be the same sound though if you think about it.

Actually with school and trying to finish my house the Vette is on the list of things to work on but it is on the very BOTTOM. I think my only performance mod for ANYTHING is a jet kit for my bike.....lol

If I didnt have to buy this furniture and if I sold my bike I could have done the exhaust, LT4 top end kit, gears, and a supercharger.....

Dude that was thrown in this summer when I put a backrest (Corbin seat and back rest) on my sport bike. Plus she got a nice little cushion that straps on to the seat to make it even MORE comfy and so she doesnt slide around........yeah my man card has been gone a while.

If its your money and you are not married you have officially handed over your nutz. If you get married she will make you sell the car when you have kids.
When I bought My DD Miata all the Women said don't you have kids? I said "yes, One but he doesn't pay for the car I do"
When I Bought the vette My wife said "What are you going to do with Two 2-seater" I said " I will drive one or the other depending on what shoes I'm wearing"

My list went something like this -
Bed
Couch
TV
Family car
MY Car (the vette)

Took me a few years, but got there in the end..

Was just about to start spending $ on the vette when I got made redundant.. still not selling it tho, and she knows how good it is for me, so she's not trying to make me

The trick is to make them happy first, then you can go and do whatever you want

What can they say if they mysteriously appear on the front porch. How they get there?

[QUOTE=ch@0s;1571805170]If its your money and you are not married you have officially handed over your nutz.

unless you have future plans I would reconsider your place in the relationship.

marriage and responsibilities are a whole nother story.

girlfriends are meant to compliment your car, and brag it up to others, then smile when you peel out from your friends.

I'd like to see a picture of this lady...she better be scorching freaking hot!

For what it's worth...I've been married almost 6 years now, and have a 17 month old son, and my garage looks like this:

Plan is to marry her in 2 summers, the ring is going to be given to her this coming spring.

She loves my bike, really liked the GTO and LOVES the Corvette. She doesnt want me to sell the bike or the Vette and would rather I take out loans for school than sell those items to pay for a few semesters. She says we would have to buy that stuff when I am done anyway so just pay low interest on a few semesters, not a bad idea really.

The reason I needed furniture is the simple fact that what I have in the living room is god awful looking and I happened to have a "drinking/throwing up" accident on the couch that wont seem to come out! Damn Bacardi....lol So the furniture is warranted, I wanted it but I have been putting it off for a month or so.

However, she is all for modifying the Corvette she just doesnt want me to over extend myself financially right now. Which is understandable.

She even knows the engines in the cars, almost makes me cry from happiness sometimes when she says "Your friends Z06 has the LS6 right?"

LOL mine went form stock to modified cammed TPI to modded HSR in the year that I have owned it.

Along the way I have proudly brought my wife into the garage to show her. I have also showed her different stages of the engine and HSR mod as it went along.
When it was done we made a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTBKN...layer_embedded
at witch point she told me she couldn't tell the difference.

Here's my take on this part...you have toys and cannot afford it if you can't pay for your school. The toys are depreciating assets while your education is not. If you sell your toys now, in 3 years, you can buy them back for less, and not pay "low interest" on a school loan. If you haven't noticed, the job market sucks right now, and the days of walking out of school with a degree and making $100K a year are done for a while.

Why start a marriage with debt? I'm willing to bet she wants a big wedding too.

I appreciate your take on it. However I can afford to pay for college without selling the toys. The issue is I cant afford to modify them and pay for college, that is all. Only bill I have is my Jeep, Corvette and bike are completely paid for.

You are right, the job market sucks. I had a good job making roughly 60% of that number you through out there and I was working with only a 2 year degree. I am quite confident that after I have my degree along with the 5 years experience I already have that I will be just fine finding a job.

She wants a big wedding, good thing her parents are paying for it........lol
