I just bought a Ruby last Thursday. when the drivers door is open there is a pretty loud hum in the glove box vicinity, sounds almost like a small motor running. It goes away when I close the door. I also noticed a little while ago, when I opened the console to get the owner's manual, The humming changed pitch when it was fully opened. Is this normal? I'd like to hear some opinions before I start ripping the dash apart. Any help appreciated.
I'd say you've got a bad relay. There's a bank of them located up under the dash, you remove the plastic knee bolster to get to them. I'd open the door and remove them one at a time until you find the bad egg.
Thanks Jim. That was it. It was the interior light relay. I didn't know those relays were hidden in there. I've got a lot to learn about these beasts! I've only had it 5 days, I've got plenty of time.

Are you now wondering why, your 93's CD player doesn't work, or the antenna doesn't go all the way down, or why the lumbar support on your seats don't seem to inflate? I'm just guessing on some common issues.

And here I thought it was humming because your vette didn't know the lyrics.
