How can I tell an LT1 short block from a LT4? I have two different LT blocks and I thought they where the same.
Help me out.

which number on the block is that? Sorry for the ignorance!

PS I can't read the vin number on the passengers side front of the block.

after reading more I think its the older version of the LT1, it has the gear spline for the opti spark.

its a 3 letter code that is stamped
