Removable roof panel problem
Has anyone had a problem stripping the threads on the bolt/nut that secures the removable roof panel on your coupe? My brother's Ruby apparently has stripped the threads on the bolt behind the drivers head. Is this an easy repair?

What do the bolts look like? Are the threads screwed up? Maybe you can just get two new bolts and re-tap the female threads with a tap. Always put them in by hand for at least a few turns and never force them. Also don't over tighten. a

I just finished putting a new A pillar weatherstripping on and when I re-installed the top it did not quite fit but I managed to catch the bolt in the nut and within a few turns I new I cross threaded it. I used a tap the size is m8 1.25 pitch. I re tapped it and lined it up and it worked out okay.I do think you can get new nut and bracket for inside the top but I was not sure how it all came apart so I tried the tap first. Hope this helps. You are actually threading into a bracket on each side. To get to it, you disconnect the mirror light, pull the plastic piece that goes all the way across, under that on each side are a pot metal looking bracket that will come off, and that's what the bolts screw into.
