I was backing out of my drive and the horns went off. I unplugged them so I could go to work. I plugged them back in yesterday and it was cool for about an hour or so. I was inside my house and they went off again. I really need my horns, it's the only way to get those hondas out of my way.

Mine started that crap too. Weird though, only while backing up. I finally figured out that while I'm backing up, I'm pulling down on the wheel. Something's loose in there and when I flex the tilt, blapp. Several times it made me look like more of an idiot than I actually am, so I unplugged it. Airbag and all, I'm not in a huge hurry to tear it apart, but I don't really relish the idea of a loose wire deploying the airbag (they say the force is the equivalent of being hit in the face by Mike Tyson  ).
Anybody know if there's a commutator (slip-ring) in there that could cause this?
If yours is anything like my '88, you can bend the "clockspring" to adjust the horn...when you pull the horn button off it will be obvious what the clockspring is & how you can adjust it. Do not mess w/ it if you have an air bag unless you pull the fuse first.
Mine are JUST the opposite...they hardly ever work. If I really hold down the buttons, you can hear the relay clicking, then they progressively come on. Sounds like yours could have a sticky relay or a stuck button. What year?
The horn button on the wheel?? just grab it and pull it out of the stering wheel it has metal clasps in the back that hold it in.. there is a wire attached to it .....
I had that problem on my 85. I took the horn button off and the plate under it. I don't remember how they come off, I think I just played around w/them for awhile and figured it out. The wire with the spring on it was off and shorting out. While I had it apart I cleaned all of the contacts and put it back together. Now it works great. If it is not that it is probably a stuck relay which is located behind the information center in the dash. Possibly you could take the relay to an auto parts store and they could test it. Or just buy a new one for 10-$12. I would check the wires first before spending the money. Good Luck, Guy
