From 1984-1987 GM used a different wheel offset then they did on the 88' and newer cars.
On your car (and my 86') the wheel hub sits about 1" closer to the center of the car than the newer cars. This means that if you take the wheel from a 2000 vette and put it on your car the face of the rim will sit about 1 inch inside the wheel well from where the stock rim sits.
You can buy the ZR1/"A-mold" wheels for the 84-87 with the correct offset so you do not have to use wheel spacers. They are a common wheel, but an attractive one.
I would like to change my rims from the stock 1990 wheels to the 5 spoke kind. I am guessing the stock rims are 8.5". Are the five spoke kind referred to as ZR1's??? If so, where can I buy them?? Will the 5 poke ZR1's 9.5" and will they work for a 1990???
