Idle to Dead Stop
Saturday night my 93 automatic was in the driveway at idle and went to dead stop. No sputter or rough idle, just dead stop. It turns over fine, but will not start. My first reaction is the opti, but there is no indication of water leaking anywhere around and it has not even been driven in the rain for months.
Does anyone know if the opti fails, does it throw a fault code? If so what is the number?
Any other thoughts?

I'm not sure about the Opti fault code, I think it's a "16" or a "36" but I'm not sure. I can tell you that my '93 auto recently did the exact same thing except I was running 70 mph down the road instead of idling. Mine showed a Code 42. It was the Ignition Control Module, mounted on the passenger side front cylinder head area- two screws and it was off. I had to take it to a parts store to test the module- Autozone did this for me.Mine was bad, and $85 later, I had the new module and the car runs fine now. If this is it, I believe the part number they gave me was a DR194, but I'm not sure. I do remember it was almost half the price of the dealership. I hope this helps.
