lost lug nut key

Default lost lug nut key

i have lost the original lug nut key that came from GM. any suggestions? i have no paper work on it. will the vin no. help? or is it just a remove and replace situation?

I think its R&R time. I had the same situation on a pontiac I owned a few years back and the shop had to drive some sort of a tapered socket on the lock lugs and hit them with an impact and took them off.

a shop can get them off, and you get new ones. or you can get them off with a socket.

I am thinking you can find one that will work on them though.

We have a discount tire shop here and you just take your car up there they match it with the type of wheel you have and you can buy the key to the wheel for around 10 or 20 bucks.

Don't the dealers have a set of master keys. My SUV dealer never needs the key.
