I hope this "New" mechanic has the equipment and knowledge to Properly Diagnose your Vette and not just guess and throw parts at it.

Stopped by today to see how work on my C4 was going. My mechanic was installing 2 new Hi Flow catilitic converters. He said after running the car on the lift, the left side CAT was glowing Red hot. he cut it off. Appears to be clogged. So 2 new cats are going on. Hopefully its cured Will know in a few days as hes busy on other projects. I will keep ya posted. Ed

You will need a new battery. A car battery left sitting for a year is a DEAD battery and unable to be recharged!

Now I know why the vette isnt running right. Come on Ed. Do some homework, find a reputable mechanic/shop, and get her running right.

Actually i did buy a new battery for it. Only because i gave the other one to my son for his LT1 Caprice. I have recharged batterys that have sat 2 or 3 years They are fine!!! For example my 1996 Corsica [Daily Driver///Beater] Got a new Interstate in Nov 2006 The car sat never touched from May 2007-July 2009.. one jumpack start, a 20 mile drive..its still in everyday use today. As a matter of fact I put 30,000 miles on car last year. i guess i was lucky on that one as it wasnt that old. Now the one in my Fiero[79 actual miles on odometer] has been sitting 23 years LOL Im positive that one needs a military Funeral!!

Yesterday the Phoenix rose from the grave!! I put my C4 on a friends trailer to transport it to a good mechanic 70 miles away in Maple shade,NJ We are going to try again!! First up is a complete fuel pump assembly.. I will keep all of you posted. Thanks Ed
After 7 months I picked up my Corvette. yes its alive and running. Put 150 miles on it in 24 hours. seems to run OK now. It needed a whole lotta stuff. First a new fuel pump and sock went in..then 2 new high Flow Cats.. then a rebuilt ECM.. Spark plugs..Seemed ok but from sitting needed 4 Fuel injectors.. Now a good ride later its running better by the mile. Bill was very reasonable. i keep ya posted. Thanks to everyone for your support. The other reason the car sat abit I had a serious health issue,so i had to focus my efforts to beat that issue. i will update that in another thread. N ow its time to cruise...

Ed, Read your post from beginning to end. I tell ya, Corvette ownership has it's ups and downs. But mostly ups. Every time I get a chance to run thru the gears on a straightaway I get a grin from ear to ear. I have fixed everything that broke in the past by myself, with much help from my number one Corvette info guy, Corvettemike2004 and many others.
You are certainly in the right place to get your Vette running with the horses again.
Good luck and let the ponies loose.
