I have Gas Stabil ready to go but i was wondering shoudl the tank be full, half or less??? I have heard different things and just want to know how full i should keep the tank when it is sitting in the garage for the winter? Thanks
Me too. But I have to refill it every couple of weeks. It keeps getting ignited and sent out the tail pipes....even during the winter. Better keep those tar sands a flowin' Jim. I won't rub in the motorcycle ride to Cloudcroft this past weekend...that would be mean.
To the OP....keep it full....less chance for condensation to build up and do nasty things. And one less thing you have to do come the Spring Thaw. Take it off battery tender and fire it up.
Jim....that's OK, come March and April watch the weatherbug for zip 79924. When they're predicting 60 mph winds for El Paso, you can extract your revenge.
I swear, in the spring here, anything that isn't nailed down can wind up in the next county in an hour.

I was going to ask you about dust storms but after your post i think i'll pass hehe. Seriously tho, you should put your vette up for 6 months, just to get the incredible rush when you take it back out for the first time.
Any airspace remaining in the tank will allow moisture to condense on the inside as the ambient temp changes. (Condensation happens when it cools... every time it cools, not just the first.) That water then runs down the side of the tank, is heavier than gas, so it pools in the bottom ... potentially allowing rust to form on the inside of the tank.
Keep it full, there's less air space, so less condensation.
This all happens in the summer too, but if you're driving it frequently, then the water stays stirred up in the gas, and is ejected through the tailpipes

Throw the stabil in on an empty tank, then fill up. Put some miles on the car to give the stabil a chance to work its way through the engine components, then park it.
