thats almost exactly what i was thinking about doing on my white 94 convert. id love to see more pics. maybe some with the whole car with the hood up to see how the fuel rail covers look with the white body?
Thanks guys, I'll post more pics when it's done, still lots of stuff to do. The claw will go back on in a day or two, and I ordered Samco radiator hoses in white with polished stainless clamps With the hood up just looking at the engine from 10 feet it REALLY pops.
You're a brave man painting everything white...or she doesn't get driven much. She certainly looks sharp though.
It shouldn't be too hard to keep clean, you can pop the fuel rails off and hit them with the hose, the valve covers are chrome so not alot to do there. I don't drive it much though as it's more of a toy than a car to me anyways. I am debating a chrome alternator as I dunno about the white paint on mine. I might paint the center of the alternator red, the part that is normally black that is. I painted the pulley and the fan flat black so I might paint the center of the alternator black to match. I'll goof with it all winter, keeps me out of trouble.
This is my 86 coupe engine bay. I dropped her off at the paint shop yesterday to get the inside of the hood painted red and a mirror kit installed. This should make the engine bay really pop.
Nice work guys! I have an L98 and love the look of the runners and the ridged plenum. I just bought some ridged valve covers to sorta match the plenum top. How did yall clean up everything in the engine bay? Was the motor out when you did it? Which cleaning products did you use? Thomas, it looks like everything has a new coat of paint. Is it or is it that clean? Nice work on your paint JD!! The covers on the LT1 gives you guys alot of options. Let us know how you went about making these show ready finishes.
Is she really a Lingenfelter or just the valve covers?
Yeah she's real, I've got all the LPE stuff on it too, fender badges, throttlebody plate, license plate frame, windshield decal and valve covers. I had the valve covers chrome plated as LPE offered them in polished aluminum only.
PPG on the fuel rail covers everything else is rattlecan I've found the rattlecan works great providing you clean the parts fifteen times then clean them once more and the most important thing, light coats lots of light coats. Guys mess up with spray cans because they try to hammer the paint on in just a couple of coats. The intake is Duplicolor hi temp engine paint #1653 Red.

That truly is a piece of work. Great to see her in the hands of someone going the extra mile to care for her!
