I am glad you are OK! :yesnod: You should treat this just like falling off a bike, GET RIGHT BACK ON!!! (A new Vette!) Dont let the insurance company treat you unfairly. :nono: Determine (local dealers, classifieds etc:, exactly what it would cost to replace it, include sales tax, and FORCE them (Your lawyer if necessesary) to pay the cost of replacement. Do not sign anything that says you have not been hurt yet. They will try to get you to do this. Be aware, they will try to screw you at every corner. I have been there and done that.
Good luck!
you made my eyes welt up w/ tears (really). I'm glad your OK. A good Vette is almost like a really good dog. Always there when you need her, and willing to do anything to make you happy. Just feed her, bathe her, and pet her and she will treat you right. I'm sorry your dog, I mean Vette, lost her life to save yours. :( :(
Aerovette, I am so very sorry to hear about the your loss. :( The emotional attachment to the Corvette is completely understandable. Thank God you are alright! Hang in there! :)
A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I totalled a '70 coupe. To this day, I still miss that car, and often think about it. Where's a time machine when you need one?
I know how you feel, I was slowing down so a Civic in front of me could make a right turn and I was hit from behind by a semi. My 1991 Double Black Vette was totaled and I got the '94 in settlement. All in all I ended up way ahead on the deal, but it took almost six months for me to get the new vette.
Sorry to hear about your loss.....and that your okay......Hopefully the kid has some good insurance......and that they do you right in finding a replacement for your love..... :nonod: :seeya :chevy Hang in there!!! :seeya :chevy
We are all sorry to lose such a nice Vette but we would feel even worse to lose something more important...YOU! Really sorry to hear about the Vette but we need to all breathe a sigh of relief and say thank you to <insert deity of choice here> that you are o.k. Look for a worthy successor and move on. I'm sure she would have wanted it that way.
This really :mad my butt!! Irresponsibility on the part of other drivers drives me nuts. I do not think that you are over dramatic about your loss at all. We become very attached to these cars, they are a part of our family in a sense. They have the ability to bring happiness when nothing else does. I understand your pain and feel very badly for you.
If it were me, I would have cried too....but only after I got done :boxing some butt!! :cuss
 Truly sorry to hear about the death of your Vette. Believe me, you're not alone in your feelings. My Vette is a part of me, and a huge part of my life and I'd be truly crushed if anything happened to it.
Hope everything works out and you get to start phase II of Corvette ownership soon.
Watch talking to ins.men over the phone, they usually have a tape recorder hooked up on their end. The first thing they ask of you is, "how are you doing"? People usually reply fine or OK!BINGO you just said the wrong thing!
Don't sign anything until you see your MD :yesnod: Soft tissue injuries will not show up on an xray! Consult with a civil attorney!
Good luck!!
