I'm sure there's some fine print somewhere to prevent people from doing that. There is probably a percentage of the purchase price you don't get back, because it is a used car when you bring it back and they would be out a lot of money.
Plus, you have to be able to afford it in the first place! Maybe there is somewhere you can rent the new ZR1?
Free joyride for 2 months in a 2009 ZR1 would be awesome though!

Haha, man, you'd have a TON of heavily abused ZR1s for sale on the used lots, come Spring.
I'd drive that thing like a stolen car with a dead hooker in the trunk...eat meatball sandwiches and leave the wrappers in the car, use it to haul junk around, and enter it in every track event I could find.
60 days later: "Well, it's very nice, I'm just not sure I like the color...can I look at the Aveo again?"
Hertz used to rent out Shelby GT-350 Mustangs and had the same problem...rent on Friday, race all weekend, then return on Monday...they don't do it anymore for a reason.
Looks to me like if you meet all of the conditions, it would qualify.
But unless you can actually afford to buy one in the first place, it's not gonna happen.
Eligible Vehicle means a new 2009 or 2010 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac motor vehicle (excluding medium duty vehicles) that is purchased from a Participating Dealership located in the United States. Saab, Saturn, Hummer and Pontiac motor vehicles are not eligible and thus, are not Eligible Vehicles.

ROFL,

Oh worse than that. People used to rent those Shelby's from Hertz and remove the Shelby engine from them and swap them with a standard Ford engine. Hertz was clueless! Now that that takes *****!
You are right but there are a number of conditions. There cannot be more than $200 worth of damage. The dealer would not be to hard pressed to get to that number, especially if you have been beating on it. If you haven't then what's the point of doing it to begin with?
Do it man, impress your friends and some chicks with it and then return it. You can always say I owned a brand new ZR-1 back in dickity 10. People will be so impressed. Rock that Z hard

I'm guessing those that have actually have the means to buy a ZR1, don't need to buy one to impress people.
Yes, one of the conditions of this program is you actually have to buy the car first. Very select few would qualify for that loan.
You have to keep the car for at least 30 days, and can't be behind in the payments. So, you would have to make at least one payment.
By the time you figured tax, title, insurance, etc. you would lose more money than what most C4's are selling for.
Remember, they will only refund the actual price of the car, not all the extras.
