Default Introduction

Just thought I would introduce myself. Ive been on here for a while posting comments here there just getting a feel for this forum. I have lots of knowledge to sure. I'm a trained, certified auto technician/computer nerd. Which seems to compliment each other.

I picked up my first corvette earlier this year though a trade. Real sper of the moment kind of thing. Just found a ad on Craigslist of a guy looking for a truck offering a corvette. I Just so happen to have a couple trucks I was getting sick of. So i offered him my freshly frame on restored 67 chevy long bed step side. But I had a lot of money in to it and the vette wasn't in the greatest of shape ( ok it was rough ). So I also offerd him a 78 chevy short bed 4x4 with a 6" lift, I had picked up like 2 weeks prior for pretty much dirt. I called it the 1980s redneck special complete with forest mural on the sides. Luckily he was interested in that instead.

Ok this is getting to long to sum it up we traded and I ended up with a 85 white/Tan, 4+3, high mileage, power everything, needing everything, Corvette. and to my surprise a z51 car.

I cant seem to figure out what to do with it. It needs alot of work I have a t56 and ls1 laying around but like no budget. So stay tuned I think im going to start a build thread. O heres some quick pics.

Are those Ca. plates on the car? Do you live in Ca? If so the Ca. smog ****'s require your car to be stock. We test back to 1976.

Good luck with your vette. They are fairly simple to work on. Keep us posted with your progress.

The Ca BAR/smog isn't a issue, just as long as I keep all the emission equipment from the the doner car ill be alright. The ls1 I have came out of a 99 fomula that I dismantled back when I worked at salvage yard (That was a sad day poor formula), so acroding to my 06 CA emission control systems application book I need PCV, AIS, EGR, EVAP,TWC+OC,SPK,FR,FOUR HO2S. It helps I used to work part time at a gold certified smog shop and that ive been friends with the smog tech since I was in high school.
I know how everyone likes pictures

Welcome to the 85 Z51 4+3 club.....it seems like half of us on here have 85's, so I do not think you will have any problems with finding info on your car. I wanna see the LS1 swap!
