Default 1994 Customization

I've have a 1994 Corvette in rough condition. I have it in a shop as full full blown Custom at $70,000.00 budjet. We are talking Custom Paint, Stroker Motor, SuperCharger, Suspension, Transmission, Rear End, Interior, Etc.
Plus lots of Chrome, Tires, Custom Wheels. You guys get the picture.

The shop is telling me it could take 18 months or so to do the entire project. They are a busy shop, with several other simular projects going at the same time.

What is your experience from you guy's that have had a Custom Vette Built?????

You might want to ask this guy

Just don't take his advice.

I know investing any money in any vehicle is a poor or no return.
This vehicle has been in the family, now its mine, I 've got the money and the vision.

How long do you think it should take??????

I think if you're going to spend $70,000 on somebody, you should be telling THEM how long its going to take. However, given that they need the lead times on ordering parts, I would think it should take at least a month and a half.

However, having said that, I have literally no experience customizing a car to that extent. I just feel like for the money, a year and a half is ridiculous.

18m is a long time to build anything, it all comes down to how much your veh really gets worked on. I've done it many times and it can all be done in less than six months if you reaaly want to. All you're doing is building on your excisting car not fabricating a new one.

Look at thier other cars they have worked on. If they are busy, that may mean they are a good shop and people are willing to wait. If you go somewhere else and they aint that busy, there may be a reason.

Painters usualy take pics of thier work. I take pics when I paint. Ask to see some pics of there work.

Good luck

Corvette Mike
