if you've got an LT1, don't get water anywhere near the Optispark distributor. A search on this forum will bring up more posts than you'll care to see about this topic.
Theres a whole forum dedicated to Car Care/Detailing here at CF. I just asked the same question. Got some real pros over there. Check em out. It looks like you have been told this but I was told DO NOT GET WATER NEAR THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE!!!! Their is some sensor there that HATES any amount of water. Id let a dealer do it. They know and if they screw it up they will have to fix it! I know many here are anti dealer but I have learned they are about the only ones you can count on to get it done. Even it takes 1000 times!
