Hello forum members, I am finally ready to buy myself a 1984-1996 C4 corvette locally. However I have a few questions
Engine aside - What are the main body stlye "appearance" changes between C4'S from 84 up to 96?
I am a previous owner of a 1998 Z28 LS1 camaro with a vizage body kit.
I went yesterday and took a nissan 370z out just for fun. The dealer was telling me how his 370 would blow a c4 away. They wanted 40k for the thing. I then told him how I could buy a C4 for less than 9k vs his 370 at 40k. Put Hookers long tube headers, x-pipe o/r, and a cold air induction kit on it for 1-2k more. Last but not least I was gonna put slp loudmouth 1's on it.
He then went into the handling of his new 2009 370z
I told him I was gonna set my c4 up with a new eibach suspension.
He still told me his new 370 would outcorner and handle 10x better than a c4 corvette.
Is this true as far as handling?
I definately plan on having a 84-96 sarona full body kit installed within two weeks time.
One final question is on exhausts.
Years ago when I was searching online for camaro exhausts I came accross one amazing exhaust system for my camaro. It was glass packed and sold by some dealer that sold modified camaro's.
I haven't been able to find that exhaust system since
I think it was GRRM or something. What a sound profile!
anyone out there who might have came accross this website?
gmmg is the exhaust you are talking about and that company doesn't sell one for these cars as far as i know but corvette central sells one that is similar in design. eibach doesn't make a suspension for c4's either. 370's are lame. 332hp and what aftermarket part are out that will make serious increases in hp? none. lt1's are 300 and a set of long tubes and a tune should bring it right up there with it and you still won't be $30k+ in debt. for the money you are looking at spending why not a c5?
if you are going to put a body kit on the car why are you worried about the appearance changes between 84-96. all you need to do is look at the cars and you should be able to spot them. its not that hard they been on the road for 20 plus years. the sales hole was trying to sell you his car he doesn't care or might not even know what a C4 can and can not do. plus again the design is 26 years old I hope a new car can out perform it on some levels. if not how could they sell it.
First off, that Sales hole couldn't sell a car to his mother. How sad is it that he has to compare his new car to a twenty plus year old design and engineering. OBTW, theres a 370Z owner somewhere in Tenn. that is rethinking his decsion on that purchase after i smoked him in accelleration, handling and style in a I-75 north run coming home from Road Atlanta the end of Sept.

I recently picked up my 90 which the 2nd owner was kind enough to drop a ZZ4 crate motor in with Lingenfelter heads along with some other goodies....C4's can be had right now and they can also be driven without some of the worries of newer Vettes
