Automatic trans shift points
At wot I get 3800 in 1st and around 5000 for 2nd
Is this accurate? Is there an easy way to adjust?
Thanks
This question has been asked and answered dozens of times recently, and much info can be found using the search feature.
The governor controls shifting. It works as a function of rpm and line pressure. Line pressure (assuming a healthy trans) is sent to the governor via tv pressure. TV is throttle valve.
The governor is not adjustable. To custom tune it, you must swap weights and springs.
However, I dont recommend this as you 3800 rpm wot 1-2 suggests low line pressure, likely as a result of a misadjusted tv cable.
92 and 93 are difficult to adjust compared to earlier years. Consult the shop manual for the procedure, and follow it to the letter.
If you dont own a shop manual, the search feature will bring it up, as it has been scanned and posted many, many, times.
I hope this is helpful.

Nothing in 1992 received a 4l60E, so you can ignore those search results.
The kit listed above is a shift kit, and does not affect shift points.
After you solve your problem, this:

can be used to custom tailor your shift points, if you desire.
