I've got a rearend out of an 88 4+3 sitting in my driveway that I'm taking apart. I got all the control arms, shocks, etc out, but Im curious about how to take the leaf spring out?
The problem is that because on the weight of the rear end rests on the spring, It doesn't compress. Is it still safe to remove the pin and castle nut on the end, and slowly unthread it? I'm not exactly sure how much spring this leaf spring has.
