I have a 96 LT-4, 6 speed. The battery was replaced about a year ago. I only drive the car a few times a month. But when I do, I take it out and run it for about an hour or so on the highway. Recent Problem: when I turn the key, nothing happens. I have power for head lights, radio etc. But there is no clicking sound......nothing at all. What can it be?
Im no mechanic but if it doesnt click and you have power its your starter.
If its not that check the alarm system.
This may not be the case but it happened to me.. The security system was preventing me from starting the car.
my last suggestion would be to get a multi meter and check the power comming out of the battery.. I think its 14v( or amps not sure which ) to start the car.

Fuses by the battery could also cause the same thing. There are 2 gang holders by the battery. One is very obvious by the inside wheel well, the one you want is farther back and sort of hidden. It is a small black holder with about a half dozen maxi fuses. There are two 60 amp fuses that relate to ign. If they are blown, the symptoms you describe result. Keep chasing down the different causes and I know you will find it.
I think I was doing a search for radio wiring in threads. I am not sure. The good information found in the archives makes them worth keeping and searching from time to time, don't cha think?
I must have really been late night scrounging around in threads. Please pardon......
