Wow thanx for excellent reception :D I can see that i will be happy here,i also belong to Club GP and OQCGP as i also own a 2001 Pontiac GP GT,again thanx and my for sure my first mod will be a K&N.........now i got to ask what is a *cut lid*? :seeya

Welcome to CF. First mods.
Tune up if it hasn't been done in a while.
K&N or AMSOIL air filter. I have one of each and change them out when one needs to be changed. Then I can Clean and oil the other one any time.
Exaust system. I have Flowmaster Mufflers (2 Chamber) But there are others. If you have precats get a Ypipe with out them, or even better Headers. A high flow Cat will help a little.
Just my 2cents.

Welcome to the forum.
A cut lid goes like this. Picture A is the entire air filter assembly (stock L98). Picture B shows the section to cut out (in black) of the 'Lid' using a Dremel. Hope this helps.
