I really don't see the economy improving that much to reflect any increase. In my area they are taking the caps off our electric rates and in January we're supposed to increase by 30%. Thanks power company. Must be some owners thinking their vettes are worth more than they are. I remember a few years ago the one owner thought his stock 85 was worth $30,000. At least that's was his friend a "appraiser" said it should go for.
It doesn't matter what type of car it is- when you get to the 15-18 year old range, you can generally be sure that it will be at it's maximum depreciated value.
well, aside from this joke. I've been seeing the c4's in my neck of the words going for more than they did several months back? OR should I say the owners are dilusional and asking more.... but nothing is moving (as far as i am aware).
They're nuts. Maybe they are thinking that someone will chisel them down several thousand and think they have found a bargain.
If I was putting any of mine up for sale right now I would probably ask WAY more than they are worth. I'd probably ask $20k for the C4 and $30k for the Z06. Sure, on here we all know they aren't worth crap, but there are a lot of people that would say "WOW! A Corvette for $20,000?!?! What a deal!!"
We can make fun of the seller all we want, but if that one uninformed idiot with money comes along, he will be the one doing the laughing all the way to the bank.

That's hard to argue with. There's a sucker born every minute.
They should ask for that amount of money, especially if they are all original and well maintained. These care are classics and should be treated as such. the problem is that people are desperate for money and are willing to take what they can for them.

We had a garage sale the other day (in the driveway). My vette was in the garage (1991 50k) with the hood up and I recieved alot of compliments . I was very surprised when people asked, "what year is it a 2001?". One couple explained how they used to have a 88 and asked if it was for sale. I told them I would sell it for 11k but it wasn't really for sale. They could not believe it and kept asking what was wrong with it, why sooo cheap.

FINALLY! Some sense here. Some of you guys give your cars away because "thats what everyone else says to do". Make your price and hold there unless you are in desparate financial shape. Then that can be understood. Just because some are basically given away, don't feel as though you must follow suit. I feel if you sell now just because you think you'll never get your money back out of it because of the poor economy right now, the future will find you regretting it. Think about the older C1's and C2's. Who would have guessed? If a new member would come to this forum and read all this "woe is the C4 crap" that goes on here after just buying a C4, he would probably and then and maybe even poop himself!
