Lookin to replace my gas cover, hood, and valve cover emblem, are they easy to replace? Is there an adhesive holding them on? I just afraid of damaging the paint? I know there are screws, but still very tuff to take off so i did not want to pry too much incase damage paint, any ideas??

The ones on hood and gas door use fishing line worked back and froth underneath them to cut through the old adhesive. For the valve cover one I would score an outline of it so you dont remove any paint when prying it off

My 88 has two screws under the hood that held the hood emblem on. You'll have to get an extension on your rachet and socket while you reach up into the two holes, cause you can't see the sefl threading nuts on the emblem. Same with the gas door emblem, but you CAN see the two nuts.
The valve cover emblem is just on with two sided tape.
On my 87 the hood emblem didn't have adhesive, the fuel door one had a serious adhesive.
On the front, there are 2 10mm speed nuts holding it on. Speed nuts are just cheap pieces of metal, not real nuts, and they self tap the posts on the emblem. I used some double sided tape I got from a guy at a body shop to hold it on, better safe than sorry.
The one on the fuel door was a real booger. I used a heat gun, fishing line, and lots of bad words to try to get it off. I got it off without messing up the door, but the old emblem didn't survive.
