1988 black coupe, auto trans, 85k orig miles, clean title, new leather on seats, only problem is paint fade on the mirrors, original paint in good condition, runs great and strong.
going to buy it for 4000.00 i know its worth more than what im paying just want some opinions on how much it is actually worth
Sounds like you're getting a real good deal! You'll probably get a few posts here saying it's only worth $2500.00. Ignore those as those low price quotes are for high mileage poor condition cars. Some guys preach this unless they're the ones trying to sell it. I would say by the condition you mention that it should be in the $6000 to $8000 range or more if it has maintainance and ownership records.

I wish those prices you are quoting were real, but that is not the C4 market I am seeing. The seller is asking $4,000 because he really wants to sell it. Yes these cars are worth more, but people are not paying the money these cars are worth.

Yes, I agree with the fact that many people now don't want to spend or have the cash to spend, so some sellers just will just take what they can get if they (really) need to sell quickly. The original post asked for opinions on what it might be worth, so I feel he got it for at least $2000 less than what it would be listed for on average in good condition to someone truely in the market for a clean 1988 Vette. We all know it's tough right now trying to get a fair price on our cars no matter what year of Corvette, so some just give in and take a loss rather than waiting it out for the right buyer. Same could be said for all cars right now. Hopefully things will turn around for us all soon.
hahaha, it's worth more...get real...it's worth what someone will pay for it an nothing more. If your happy with the 4k price then go for it an enjoy it.

Finally, an intelligent post about C4 prices.
You are getting a screaming deal at $4000 for that car from the condition you describe.
